All the buildings were beautiful and ancient, or at least ancient in style. In one they actually used pieces of wood and twigs to write out the characters.

The walk back was very nice along the river, although we had to brave the line of women who were pinching us as they asked for donations on the way out of their performance. It was fun to hear the surprised screams as our group found themselves abruptly goosed. Then we walked along the riverside, with the little saleswoman following us the entire way, asking, "mai dongxi ma?" Anyone who made the mistake of buying something would be flocked by the woman, as if you were feeding ducks.

The Hair Show

We finally made it to the hair show and enjoyed seeing their performance.

The houses featured traditional lanterns for decoration (although part of it might have been because this is, after all, a tourist area).

As we walked on the other side of the river beside the river we had a beautiful view. There was even a peculiar purple fern that was very nice to see.

You can also see the houses they build. They always have multiple floors because they believe that with all the humidity, it is bad health to live on the first floor. That floor is where they keep their animals; the second floor is where they live, and the third floor is where they tend their hair.
